President Uhuru Kenyatta is currently meeting Members of Parliament
and Senators from Central Kenya at State House, Nairobi over increased
cases of alcoholism in the region.
According to the MPs, alcohol and drug abuse are the only items to be discussed in the meeting.
However, a section of MPs from the President’s backyard in Central
Kenya have said that they will raise questions with the President for
allegedly failing to address economic activities affecting the residents
especially in the agriculture sector. This comes just a few days after Kabete MP Ferdinand Waititu and area
youth raided bars and liquor distributors in what he said was an
operation against alcoholism.
