Sauti Sol seems to be on a roll of late. Racking up a BET award nomination, headlining a US tour and gearing up to release their third studio album “To Live and Die In Afrika” later in 2015. So what are their five best songs of all time?

Coming Home- Every boy band needs a ballad. This 2011 track off Sauti Sol’s is a sure fire way to get people singing along after a couple of beers. The music video is also capable of making unsuspecting viewers reach for the tissue box.

Lazizi- Guaranteed that “Lazizi” is played in every local bar at least once a night. Perhaps Sauti Sol’s first song that the public knew them by in 2009, it still rings out strong after six years. It seems like every band in Kenya has tried to cover this song, with varying degrees of success.

Sura Yako- The song that launched more than a million views on YouTube. Arguably the biggest hit ever to come from the band; this is the one that put the group in the world’s view. The clips of people all over the globe attempting the “Sura Yako” dance almost make up for hearing it forty times a day for months on end.

Blue Uniform-This throw back song from 2009 showcases Sauti Sol at their very best. The guitar work is incredible, the individual vocals really hit the right notes and chorus will have you humming. Not only the musical skills involved, but the tale of police corruption proves that Sauti Sol may just have something to say about social issues.

Nerea- Let the debates begin! Yes, “Nerea” the controversial 2015 mega-hit. People got talking over the tune that may just be about abortion. This song is not only catchy but gorgeous, with amazing harmonies and a standout guest appearance from Amos and Josh. The music video pulls at the heart strings so hard that you can’t just watch it once.
