The meeting was organized by top ODM leaders to contain the rift between Oburu Odinga, nominated senator, Siaya county and Jakoyo Midiwo, member of parliament (MP) Gem
constituency. Oburu accused Midiwo to be a mole by claiming that he was working with the Jubilee party, however the majority leader dismissed the allegations.
After consultations, Raila revealed that there is nothing wrong if an opposition member works with the government.
“There has to be engagement with the other side, or the government. That should not be construed to mean betrayal of the party. There has been misunderstanding on both sides. Both have been given opportunities to defend themselves to the satisfaction of members. They even shook hands in the meeting,” as quoted by the Star.
