How DP Ruto Carefully Picked His Words In Raila’s Hometown, No ‘Yule Wa Vitendawili’

Deputy President William Ruto’s tour in Nyanza saw him pick his words carefully as he addressed locals who are believed to be staunch Raila Odinga’s supporters.
Ruto, who has been at loggerheads with the Cord leader recently over , said he had no grudge when he toured Raila’s Bondo hometown on Sunday, June 28, 2015.

“You all know I supported Agwambo in 2007… At times Baba blames me for the 2013 loss but I didn’t compete with him; he was vying against Uhuru,” he told a gathering at Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology.
Clearly, he took a more reconciliatory tone and even dropped ‘yule mtu wa vitendawili’ phrase he often use in reference to the former prime minister.
“Even as we do politics, we should respect one another. We should discourage politics of enmity if we are to attain a united country free of tribalism and negative ethnicity,” he said.
He pledged that the Jubilee administration would serve all Kenyans irrespective of their political affiliation.
The DP was accompanied by several leaders including MPs Ken Obura (Kisumu Central), Mary Emase (Teso South), Gideon Ochanda (Bondo), David Were (Matungu) and Mathias Robi (Kuria West).
