North Korea's military might appears to be less powerful than first thought

North Korean soldiers take aim and fire at their American adversaries, inflicting many casualties - but that is just an average day at the propaganda-fuelled Pyongyang fun fair.
The revealing pictures, which tubby tyrant Kim Jong-un would no doubt like to erase, show soldiers wearing dated uniforms as they gear up for potential all-out war with the West.
Military men and women line North Korea's streets, but often they are drafted in to help with manual labour because the impoverished nation's economy is in ruins.

One image depicts soldiers taking aim at a picture of Americans playing a game at a fun fair, something they may be doing for real if Donald Trump decides to attempt to eliminate the North Korean threat once and for all.
The slogan on the posters reads, ominously: "Kill the US."
Most of the soldiers serve in military for 10 years while female soldiers serve for seven.

Gifted pupils can get away with only serving for a few years before they are catapulted up the ranks and given a comparatively cushy job in government.
But there is a massive problem with the North Korean army - food.
Despite a propaganda photo showing the former Dear Leader dishing out bowls of soup to dedicated soldiers, malnourishment is prevalent throughout the country and those in the army do not get particularly privileged treatment - many flee the forces for this very reason.
The pictures show rows of new recruits training to become the next wave of Kim Jong-un's fighting machine, ready to do their leader's bidding on a moment's notice.

New recruits must graduate from the military before they are allowed to have relationships

Cadets have an extra incentive to graduate from the military - only then are they allowed to leave group accommodation and have a sexual partner.
For many years, under Kim Jong-il, young soldiers were forbidden from having girlfriends because it would distract them from their mission.

The North Korean military clearly have a nice side

But the snaps also show a lighter side to life inside the hermit state.
Some soldiers are seen smiling and striking a pose while a female officer strokes a lethargic looking dog, proving it is not all doom and gloom under the dumpy despot's rule.
