Woman shot dead during police academy training

Florida police investigate a shooting in which a woman was killed during a police training exercise on Tuesday (August 9) in Punta Gorda Police Academy, NBC reported.
Police were investigating what they said was an accident during a “shoot or don’t shoot” role play scenario, media said.
Two people out of 35 were chosen at random to participate in an exercise practising whether or not officers should use their firearms in certain situations.

An officer hit and killed the woman police officer named as Mary Knowlton, when the gun shot live rounds instead of blank ammunition.
The officer who shot Knowlton has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation, NBC said.
