The middle-schooler is the acting head of Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump’s campaign office in Jefferson County, a Denver suburb.
But he doesn’t want to stop there. Weston says he plans to run for president when he becomes eligible in 2040.
“I was always a Trump guy, I’ve loved him from the start. He has spoken what people want to hear, he hasn’t been politically correct about it either. Whenever I talk to a Hillary supporter I go, ok, would you trust her with the nuclear codes? Would you trust her to have the nuclear key in the palm of her hand so she could just say ‘ok here we go, push a button,” he says.
Right now that means being in charge of volunteers and voter outreach.
But Weston says his ambitions are much bigger.
And he already has a running mate in mind – Trump’s youngest son, Barron, who is two years Weston’s junior.
“Honestly, if Barron Trump is watching this I’d love to have Barron Trump as my running mate. That would be awesome. Imer-Trump 2040,” he says.
Weston’s small role in the Colorado campaign has already landed a place on a bigger stage – he’s appeared on stage at several Trump rallies in Denver.
But the campaign has a long way to go in Colorado, where polls show the Republican trailing Democratic rival Hillary Clinton by double digits.
