MP wants police retrained to address extrajudicial killings

MP wants police retrained to address extrajudicial killings Igembe South Member of Parliament Mithika Linturi wants the national government to retrain police officers in a bid to avert extrajudicial killings.
Speaking in Meru on Sunday, Linturi said that the officers should be re-trained in order to remind them of their duty to protect life saying that most of them have forgotten this.
The MP, who was speaking following the killing of human rights lawyer Willie Kimani, his client Josephat Mwenda and their taxi driver Joseph Muiruri by unknown people less than a fortnight ago, said cases of extrajudicial killing were minimal and isolated.
He said that rogue police officers must be dealt with in accordance with the law.
