Since the power couple has always maintained a public relationship the two also shared they Valentine’s poems to each other on live TV.
On the Ellen Show, The President and First Lady shared special Valentine’s Day messages for each other. Michelle Obama (presumably the romantic of the two), started off with a poem, which she shared with the President via video:
“Roses are red, Violets are blue, You are the president And I am your boo”Not to be out-shined by his wife, President Obama took to the stage of the Ellen Show to film his own message for Michelle:
“Somebody call the situation room, ’cause things are about to get hot,” he said,
Then he thereafter promised the First Lady a special Valentine’s Day meal of zucchini bread and veggies on a plate, just the way she likes them.
And while most of his message was in tongue-in-cheek humor, the President ended with a tinge of sentimentality:
“I’ve made a lot of great decisions as president, but the best decision I ever made was choosing you.”
