Mariam Wuolou, 34, worked as a receptionist at the Pope’s home and at a priests’ guesthouse called Santa Marta for many years. She was seven-months pregnant when her body was discovered by her brother.
Ms Woulou was suffering from a serious kind of diabetes and doctors had warned her that she risked losing her pregnancy.
No signs of violence have been reported so far, police are looking into neglect the cause of her death and have interviewed her family members.
DNA tests will be carried out on the foetus.
