It was by all means his right to accept or refuse the award but then being Octopizzo he dragged in singer Wahu to his charade. According to him Wahu should have been given the award instead of him.
His move both shocked and disappointed many in the entertainment circles, with Wahu’s husband Nameless jumping in to his wife’s defence.
Speaking to Word Is, Wahu also has a few two cents to throw into the whole matter.
“If Octopizzo had issues about the category he had been nominated in, he should have sought a way to solve that with the organisers, away from the public glare. It was very disrespectful for him to then drag me into his unprofessional actions. So there is no way I am going to pick the award from him. It’s his and he should be thankful for it,” she told Word Is in a phone interview
She then went ahead to highlight that her husband had won several awards including MAMA and was thankful when he won the same last year. Wahu told off Octopizzo for trashing the event and wished him all the best, advising him to be careful not to act in the same way in the future.
