leader Raila Odinga has officially welcomed US President Barack Obama to
Kenya saying that the country was looking forward to greater
cooperation on a range of issues.
In a statement sent from Cord secretariat, Odinga said that Kenya was looking forward to support from the US to not only become a regional leader, but to be emulated across the globe.

“As a coalition, we are keen to see a strong cooperation between our two countries, and to advance abroad Kenya-US relations through extending partnership in political, commercial and cultural areas,” the statement read.He also said the visit was significant to Kenya as it is the birthplace of his father and asked Kenyans to welcome the US President.
“We call on our people to accord President Obama a befitting welcome. The world over, we are known for our friendliness to visitors. We have a historic chance to put this on display in a historic way. Let us rise to the occasion.”During his stay in the country, Obama is expected to meet leaders from the government opposition.
