Cover girl: Dakota Johnson drops her
naive college grad look for a more sultry one on the cover of
April's Cosmopolitan Australia
She's
quickly become one of the most recognisable stars in tinsel town after
her erotic film 50 Shades Of Grey grossed a record-smashing US$93
million at it's opening weekend alone.
But
Dakota Johnson ditches her famous character's 'plain Jane' look in
favour of a much more sultry image as she covers the upcoming April
issue of Cosmopolitan Australia.
The
25-year-old daughter of Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson slips her
famous figure into silky black slip and pushes her iconic fringe away
from her forehead in the sexy shot.
Gazing steadily into the lens, Dakota wears lashings of bold black mascara and dark eye shadow for the perfect smoky eye.
A pop of venomous berry lipstick plumps up her pout while her brunette locks are tossed over one side.
Cosmopolitan
released a sneak peek of the upcoming cover, due to hit stands in
Australia on Monday, on their Instagram page with the words: 'Our April
issue... starring the girl that everyone's talking about, Dakota
Johnson.'
Alongside a copy of the issue is a lacy red pair of underwear and eye mask - clearly a nod to the actress' popular film.
While the cover reads: Love, sex and obsession. 50 Shades' Dakota Johnson'.

Dakota's
look is striking different to the one she sported at the Academy Awards
on Sunday night where she stunned in a striking scarlet dress, her hair
tied back into a pony tail and her bangs left out to frame her face.
The
beauty attended the ceremony alongside her mother Melanie, but there
appeared to be a little tension between the two women who seemed to have
a small argument at one point on the red carpet.
The awkward moment occurred when Dakota and Melanie spoke to ABC's Lara Spencer about Fifty Shades Of Grey.
'She's
a really good actress,' Melanie said when asked about her daughter's
performance in the racy romance. 'I don't need to see it to know how
good she is.'
She hasn't seen the film: Dakota attended the recent Oscars awards alongside her famous mother Melanie Griffith on Sunday
These comments seemed to annoy Dakota, who snapped, 'Alright! You don't have to see it.'
Turning away, the annoyed younger actress added: 'Jesus Christ.'

stars as naive college graduate Anastasia Steele in the film opposite

Rumours
have been circulating that the pair may not reprise their on-screen
chemistry in the sequel to the high grossing film after a report on NW
magazine suggested Jamie, 32, was poised to walk away from the
franchise.
It
reported that his wife of two-years Amelia Warner, is uncomfortable
with the raunchy sex scenes he shares with co-star Dakota.
However,
a representative for the screen star has said in a statement to
MailOnline: 'All press reports are pure conjecture as the studio has not
committed to a sequel as yet.'
